This week is an exciting week for the gearheads here in the shop.
LumiLor will be on all four of the cars for the Ford Chip Ganassi Race Team at the 24 Hours of LeMans this weekend as the team looks to defend its win at the 2016 race.
This event is one of the most prestigious as well as grueling endurance races in the world of motorsports. It’s 24 hours of continuous racing in some of the most advanced automobiles on the planet.
LeMans presents a unique challenge for race teams. When the cars are racing at night it’s difficult to tell them apart visually for both commentators and spectators.
LumiLor partnered with Ford Chip Ganassi Racing to solve this problem by lighting up the wing mirrors on each of the teams Ford GTs with a unique color.
“New for this year and especially striking at night, the wing mirrors will be coated in electroluminescent paint that will glow in each car's unique colour, making each car easily identifiable at all times while adding almost no weight.”
The Ford GTs are beautiful cars and LumiLor allowed for the wing mirrors to produce light without modification to the cars structure or design.
A lightweight coating of LumiLor electroluminescent paint was applied and topcoated in a unique color for each of the cars.

The 24 Hours of LeMans begins on Saturday, June 17.
